How long does the backup take? The time necessary will vary depending on how much data you need to backup. Remember, your download speed is fast, however your upload speed is very slow by comparison. Your first backup will take the longest, hours, days, sometimes weeks, however, subsequent backups will be very quick, usually minutes only. Optionally, you can have your initial backup 'Seed Loaded' we will send you an external backup drive to do your first backup, once complete, the drive is returned to us to be loaded on our server, your subsequent backups will then be very short in time. Is my data secure? Yes. 128bit Encryption is used to secure your data. In laymans terms, it will take, millions of years to try to crack the encyrption, even with the fastest computer on Earth! Back to Top
What happens to my data once it is at your site? As mentioned in the previous FAQ, your data is encrypted during the backup process, we can't even view it. The data is placed on our backup servers, and then duplicated to other servers for redundancy. Back to Top
In the event that my hard disk crashes, how do I get my data back. There are two methods by which you can retrieve your data. 1) Re-Download our backup software to your new or repaired system and recover from within the Terabak program. 2) Access our website from any computer, login with your credentials, and download any file(s) you wish.
